Introduction for individual services

The widerAdvance Facility offers a suite of tailored services designed to support research teams (RTs) and research management administrations (RMAs) in advancing their Key Exploitable Results (KERs) towards real-world impact. These services are delivered free of charge to selected beneficiaries and are provided by experts from across Europe.

Dissemination & Exploitation Academy

The D&E Academy is a structured service designed to enhance the impact of research results. It supports Research Teams (RTs) and Research Management Administrators (RMAs) by providing them with the tools and methodologies needed to validate their concepts with early adopters. By helping RTs move beyond the laboratory environment, the Academy guides them in identifying market needs, validating assumptions, and refining innovations to align more closely with stakeholders, investors, and partners.

Key Objectives of the D&E Academy:

  • Improve the maturity of Key Exploitable Results (KERs).
  • Strengthen the dissemination and exploitation (D&E) capacities of research teams.
  • Enhance the skills of RTs and RMAs.
  • Support the development of robust use and sustainability plans for KERs.

The D&E Academy provides a structured learning environment, enabling participants to build knowledge and skills in dissemination and exploitation. Moreover, the D&E Academy will allow participants to access other services which require a particular level of readiness.

Programme Structure:

The D&E Academy is a 3-month long capacity building course, composed by three collective workshops and complemented by individual online coaching sessions. The first and final workshops are conducted online, while the second one is in-person. Online workshops generally last 3-4 hours, while the in-person one takes two half-days (the place of the venue is selected case by case to optimise travels and logistics).

Each Academy provides support to a maximum of 15 RTs, each representing one KER.

A D&E Academy is generally organised by trying to support the highest number of KERs possible and optimize the resources (e.g. travels). Therefore, when possible, a D&E Academy will support KERs from a single beneficiary (organisation) or from beneficiaries of the same Country/ geographical area.

All services of the Facility, including the D&E Academy, are free of charge for the beneficiaries. However, travel costs for the participation to the services (when needed) are not covered by the Facility.

Access to the D&E Academy:

To be eligible, the involved RTs must meet the following criteria:

  • The KERs are clearly identified.
  • RTs responsible for each KER are commitment in exploitation and dissemination activities

RMAs can participate as a listener to learn from experts, enhancing their ability to support future initiatives within their organisations.
