My name is Marcin Barburski.
I work at the Łódź University of Technology, where I serve as Vice-Dean for Development at the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design. I was also the coordinator of a Horizon Europe project entitled Sustainable Industrial Design of Textile Structures for Composites, SUSTDesignTex.
Within this Twinning project, we worked with several universities and partners, including institutions from Poland, Germany, Sweden and Spain, as well as industrial partners.
One of the biggest challenges during the project was how to sell and commercialise our results. We developed sustainable textile and composite solutions, including some elements that could be used, for example, in drones. Some companies used parts of these results, but only to a limited extent.
The main issue was how to further develop the results and how to inform more people and companies about what we had achieved in the project. We needed support in reaching a broader audience and understanding how to move from project results towards real valorisation and commercialisation.
I decided to join the widerAdvance Facility because it was a very good opportunity to connect with people from outside our project. For me, it was very important to receive feedback from experts who could look at our results from a different perspective. Building contacts, networking, and receiving an external point of view were all very valuable for the further development and valorisation of our project results.
Our cooperation with UNICO was excellent. The personal contact with the experts was very helpful. They guided us step by step and showed us what we could improve.
What was particularly important was that the experts really understood our project and were able to transfer their knowledge in a very practical way. They helped us better understand what we needed, how to increase our knowledge, and how to approach the intellectual property aspects of our results.
Yes, the service was helpful. At some point, our activities related to the project had slowed down.
The contact with the experts gave us a new impulse to continue working with the project results and to further develop what we had already achieved.
The service helped us look again at our results and consider what could still be done to increase their impact and valorisation potential.
