Poland has long relied on fossil fuels, leading to environmental and health issues. The SuPREME project, led by the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery (IMP PAN), connected Polish researchers with top energy institutions in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Austria.
The collaboration developed technical plans for a sustainable energy transition and established a micro-energy cluster—a community-run initiative producing renewable energy locally. The project also enhanced the role of IMP PAN in shaping national energy policy, especially in the areas of clean air and electric mobility.
SuPREME is a blueprint for how scientific collaboration can drive meaningful, countrywide transformation.
