Could you briefly introduce yourself and the role you have in the organisation?
My name is Veronika Šedajová, and I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic. I specialise in materials science, especially novel materials for energy storage and sensing applications.
Before joining widerAdvance Facility, what were your main challenges regarding the valorisation of your key exploitable results?
I would say the main challenge was searching and identifying all the available patents and reports relevant to our technology, as it was very time-consuming and challenging not to miss anything.
Why did you decide to join the widerAdvance Facility?
Our research institute offered us the opportunity to join the widerAdvance Facility. I saw it as highly valuable, especially for gaining a better understanding of our position and situation in the valorisation landscape.
You participated in the IP services provided by one of the widerAdvance Facility partner – UNICO.Could you share with us your insights and opinion about the service?
I was very pleased with how this collaboration turned out.UNICO provided us with a comprehensive FTO analysis of patents relevant to our technology, including assessed risks and recommendations for the next steps in the valorisation of our technology.
Was the service helpful for the valorisation process of your Key Exploitable Results (KER)?
Absolutely, defining the freedom to operate is a key to the valorisation path. With the report, we now have a clearer picture of the patent space and the possible risks across different geographic locations and the most prominent markets.
